Bale And The Benefit Of Being Left-Footed

Similar to Ryan Giggs at Manchester United, has Gareth Bale benefitted from the natural advantage of being left-footed? Defenders seem to hate facing this unfamiliar threat...

Nonsense article which gives many examples of it's own inaccuracy. Downing is left-footed and rubbish, Ronaldo is right-footed and amazing. Giggs and Bale have benefitted from being really rather good, nothing to do with their natural left foot. If they were right-footed they would have been every bit as good.

total BS, possibly worst article ever. Giggs and Bale would be just as destructive if they did the same things with their right foot that they do with their left.

its a nice idea, but (bale's apparent role model) Ronaldo similarly scares opposing full-backs and is predominantly right footed. Surely their success is more down to their pace, power and directness that some supposed ability to tap into the right sides of their brains!

Not sure if I agree. As a right-footed player, it's actually easier and more natural to tackle a left-footed player coming to you from the left side... Wei King

it's probably easy to make an argument for this e.g. nadal being right handed and playing since young with his left for an added advantage. but 19% of people (and hence, one would imagine, footballers) are left-footed so it's hardly a terrifyingly unknown prospect facing off against someone who's left footed is it
