SAF waddling down the stairs, throwing his arms in the air and chastising the 4th official. I am embarrassed to say, I play this clip over and over. I laugh and laugh. Another clip is Justin Bieber in a red wool hat threatening a Pap, while being held back by a bodyguard. Bhwahahahaha!!!!!

@solskjaer99 - little point clubs choosing the best players/managers then if you are suggesting that the outcomes of matches are preordained by fate? Ferguson didn't react well to the sending off. You could just admit that rather than getting all Mystic Meg.

@ricky villa Real's goal was offside and the Rafael incident was a non event. In any case, it isn't Ferguson's job to work for Real Madrid, in case you've been hibernating for 26 years, he's the manager of Manchester United, in the interests of whom he works. He can say what he likes, he can contradict himself, he can be arrogant, he can be a hypocrite or all of the above if he feels it will benefit Manchester United, it's his job, all managers are exactly the same, but you hate United because they're one of the teams that are better than yours and have been for a very long time so you have an axe to grind. Hope that clears it up for you. You also fail to notice the irony of calling Ferguson a hypocrite then saying you feel Nani's red was justified, if the same happened to Spurs you'd be livid too, you're a liar if you say otherwise. Liverpool fans, and other assorted ABUs like yourself, will never accept a decision that goes against United is incorrect, no matter how blatant (like the other night, not one Real player was calling for a red, the whole stadium, Real fans included, were taken aback by the decision, if it was even borderline that would not have been the case), you're just too bitter to see past your petty, small minded ways to admit it.

@ted maul United were better against Real than Chelsea against Barca, by far. It's not arrogant, it's just correct, Chelsea were lucky, nothing more, which explains your abject performance this season, even with better players, with the same manager. @ildiavolorosso Spot on, Chelsea didn't use 'tactics' to beat Barca, they put everybody behind the ball and crossed their fingers, it's hilarious they describe it as some sort of tactical masterstroke. When United won in 1999 I was under no illusion that Bayern played better on the night and had been better tactically but fate was on our side. Chelsea fans can't seem to accept the same about last season, I don't know why, there's no shame in it, there's something special about watching fate in action like in 1999 and 2005.

Why didn't Fergie run down the stairs screaming when Real were denied a clear goal, or when Rafael handled on the line but escaped a penalty and a red card? These mistakes had already changed the shape of the match, but that was ok as they were in United's favour. As he said after Fulham were denied a blatant pen at Old Trafford last season "Sometimes you get poor decisions, but they even out in the end." Also, interestingly from Mike Phelan after Nani's 'goal' against Spurs in 2010 "We haven't done anything here. We have played to the whislte. You have to accept the decision of the referee". Fast forward to 2013 - "The referee has ruined the game. It was a very poor decision." Love the hypocrisy. The sad thing for me with this 'uproar' is that I don't think it was a bad decision. Its nothing like the two red cards in the recent West Ham v Everton game as on both of those, the player with his foot up could see his opponent. Nani was running at speed before lifting his boot up, and his studs up, with no idea of what or who was around him. THIS IS WHAT MAKES IT DANGEROUS. People who are saying its harsh because he has his eyes on the ball are missing the point entirely. The fact he has his foot up wand catches someone in the chest proves it was dangerous play and that he should walk.If that was Modric rather than Arbeloa it probably catches him in the neck or the throat rather than the ribs. I suppose it's easier to chuck out some casual xenophobia about 'dirty cheating Turkish refs' etc. It wasn't a terrible decision at all, if it was, the whole country would be unanimous in denouncing it, even die hard Liverpool fans. I'm talking things like the Pedro Mendes and Lampard 'goals' from 2005 and WC2010 respectively, or Bosnich's Schumacher style collision with Klinsmann at Villa Park. Move on, its bloody boring.

Solskjaer99 - obviously Manchester United did a much better job against Real than Chelsea did against Barcelona. Jeepers! I begin to think United's arrogance holds them back in situations like Tuesday night. Why is switching to a defensive tactic so objectionable to you in the event of losing a man. I keep reading that United can't play that way/aren't set up to play that way. Surely it is valid to ask "Why not?" then? Why can't this country's best team (and I do mean that) adapt to play in those situations?

@ildiavolorosso - you'll also find Chelsea conceded a goal either side of Terry's red card. Your lot were 1-0 up.

keep reading it was almost impossible to progress, why? Arsenal were in a winning position v Barca when vanStapleJudas was sent off. We still had a late chance for Bendtner to win that tie. Once Nani went Manure totally folded - why is that inevitable? Poor defending, no tactical response to Mourinho's changes (not saying Wenger would do any better BTW - just that he'd be criticised more for a tactical failure).

ildiavolorosso: The point is Chelsea did something that prevented them from being overrun like Utd were for 15/20 mins. Sure Utd recovered for the last 15 but the previous period was very poor for such an experienced side. Maybe they were genuinely stunned that such a controversial decison didnt go in their favour at Old trafford. Maybe they are just not defensively minded enough to cope with that sort of challenge. Maybe the much lamented failure to sign another defensive midfielder caught up with them. It could be a number of things but in the end it was their inability to deal with a controversial reffing decision that undid them

Hindsight is brilliant isn't it Paul? Man Utd lost so must be due to Fergie losing his cool and not reacting fast enough.. But if Vidic and Rooney had put away their chances in the closing stages it would have been a masterstroke reminiscent of that night in Barcelona. You probably wouldn't have written an article about that though I wager..
