Don't Ask The Everton Fans For A Pen, David...

We're often told what a fantastic job David Moyes has done at Everton, but the FA Cup exit to Wigan raises more questions about the manager's stalling tactics over a new deal...

I'd firstly like to apologise for the drivel spouted by the average liverpool fan, they do not speak for scousers as half of them arnt one. They make us sound like we've never watched a game before!! @bettyswollocks haha bottling it in big games? 2 wins against top half teams for mr brent is it? 5 years ago it was united this and united that, now all yas talk about is us. Its took another 20 odd million in jan to get level on points. Brendon rogers? I know who I'd rather have in charge of my football club. Quarter of a billion spent and your level on points with us, 3rd highest net spend in the league over the past 10 years, well done. You kopites don't half give scousers a bad name with the stuff you come out with....now go and get some bog roll and wipe your mouth, probably need a few rolls...

Mind the gap? Typical cockneys. First time you've been able to say that in a year, eh Betty? And you couldn't wait to be above us so much that you said it when the gap stands at.....0 points! Well done you.

@solksjaer - it's nearer to saying Bolt is quick with £50 spikes I wonder how fast he is with £150 ones

@bettyswollocks no need chap; pure bile you lot. If we're bitter, it's having proximity to your bilious outpourings that must do it. Is there any joy in a kopites life? FFS you've won loads more over the years - - proves one thing and one thing only, success breeds hatred - or is that just from across Stanley Park? Grow up - you 15 or something? No piley-on in the playground today?

I really hope he is offered the Chelsea job in the summer, he can fail there (and he will) rather than ruin Ferguson's legacy at United. The logic for him getting the United job seems to be that he's Scottish and half decent, but that's the problem, he's only half decent. Just because a manager does OK on a small budget does not mean they'd do well with a larger one, it's the logic of saying 'Usain Bolt is quick over 100m, he'd be amazing over a marathon'.

Since moyes took over of 23 finals (46 teams) boro, pompey, Birmingham, swansea, spurs and Liverpool have won a trophy in a season that they did not finish in the champions league the season before, Liverpool and spurs have champions league budgets anyway, the other three are no longer in the division and swansea have been a (quality) anomoly up to now. We have spent similar to those clubs around us? Here is some net spending since 03/04 (year of the billionaires) to the present of clubs in and around us over this timescale: Liverpool 177m , Villa 108m, spurs 102m, Stoke 78m, Sunderland 76m, QPR 72m, west ham 35m, Newcastle (spent a year in the championship and received 35m for Andy Carroll) 14m and Everton? 8m. (transfer league) Moyes has worked wonders, the first half of the season was some of the best football Ive seen in my lifetime and Im sorry but too many fans still live in the 80's. Have we forgot about the 90's or something? Moyes has got everton into the top 7 more than any other manager in our history. In his tenure look at some of the clubs who have been relegated in that time, newcastle, west ham, leeds and villa look very dangerous this year, these are big clubs to be in the second tier and I do not want to join the club. We get roughly 800k a match day comapred to 1.4m and 1.6m of spurs and lpool and more than double that again at arsenal and united. There is no money for moyes and no money for a new manager, we would have to take a massive gamble on new manager and in those difficult cirmcumstances, who would want it? The fact we are unhappy at not winning a trophy under those financial restrictions for me, shows how well he has done overall. The grass isnt always greener...

ted maul - surely 3 goals in 3 minutes is more an issue with performance rather than result? Either way it has happened once before, in a quarter final live on telly and turned out to be the final game of our previous Scottish manager, a 3-0 defeat at Boro (actually 35, 37 and 45th minutes, but still...)

m absolutely disgusted that I've been misquoted in saying that if a chance came up to join Arsenal I would be interested. What I meant to say is if Man United or Chelsea were interested......
