16 Conclusions On Liverpool 5 Arsenal 1

Does Liverpool's demolition of Arsenal make them genuine title contenders? As good as they were - and they were bloody good - Nick Miller doesn't think so...

Dryice Although Wilshere has stopped jumping up angrily and lashing out appealing to Referees for cards to be given (probably because the guidance to the ref's this season is that this should be dealt with by a yellow card) there is no denying that despite their being no contact above the shoulder from Gerrard (elbow or any other body part) Wilshere still threw his hands up to his face and fell to the floor, he should have been booked for simulation! As has been mentioned before a hugely over rated player, I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player but it wouldn't upset me to see him pick up a knock on the last day of the season just serious enough for him to be unavailable for the WC as this is the only way I can see of him being left out.

Chelseablue_no1 what are you going on about? They are both right wingers! So they could definitely be described as being in competition for a WC place, although Sterling has on occasion been deployed, successfully, on the left for a whole game and has swapped to that side during games so his ability to play on both wings (along with a far better run of form and better all-round game) should put him ahead of Townsend for a spot, although with Walcott out I can see argument for both of them being on the plane.

I didn't see Wilshere do anything wrong, he didn't make a fuss and didn't try to get anyone sent off. Have been quite impressed with his reactions lately, he was mr angry but seems to just get on with his own stuff.

I'd rather have a team full of Cleverley's (without Moyes telling him to pass to the wings) than a team of Girouds.

@ gunner14 - erm, yes, it did. In the second half. he hit the desk holding his face after Gerrard turned his body to stop him getting the ball. Can't remember the exact time, but we were 5-0 up at the time if that helps? At least you didn't deny he's over-rated.

Uncle Muller...err cos it didn't happen?

Why isn't more getting made of Wilshire's pretending he'd been elbowed by Gerrard? Horrible behavior from a vastly over-rated player.

@chelseablue_no1: Fair enough. @Arsenal fans: Just a question (well two). Did you think it was a good idea to play Wilshere from the start as we was just returning from injury? Is Rosicky inclusion overdue as he seem to be the one player to inject urgency in your build up play and the most adept at linking play between defense and attack?

OK, just every time I see him he seems to be on the left.

@chelseablue_no1: What are you on about? In 14 premier league starts this season Sterling has played on the right on ten occasions... He did play mostly on the left up to and at the beginning of his first team involvement though.

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
