The 42-year-old is expected to make his first appearance in the FA Cup first round when Bournemouth host John Still's League Two side on Saturday.

And the former England keeper spoke of the confidence in the squad as they look to earn a place in round two in what would be his 59th FA Cup appearance.

"I always said there was a lot of talent in this squad and Eddie has put his stamp on it," James told the Bournemouth Echo. "He has got the players playing very confidently.

"If selected, it will be the first time I have played in the first round. If not, it will be the first time I will have been involved in a first-round tie.

"For the likes of us, it is a great opportunity to progress and maybe get a good draw. If you get through the first two rounds, then who knows who you could play. It could be Manchester City or Manchester United and how good would that be?"
