Anthony Gerrard: Putting the pursuit of points to one side as Huddersfield seek

The Terriers are sat 18th in the second tier standings at present, just three points clear of the drop zone.

A change of management, with Mark Robins set to be drafted in from Coventry, is intended to bring about a reversal in fortune.

Robins' first task will not be to get points on the board, though, with Huddersfield - who saw off Leicester in a fourth round replay in midweek - set to entertain Premier League outfit Wigan in cup competition on Sunday.

On that tie, Gerrard said: "The lads have shown the new boss what we are capable of.

"We have put ourselves in a good light. Sunday should be good.

"I don't think the FA Cup is our main priority, because of where we are in the league, but it is a nice distraction.

"We are not in a false position, because the table doesn't lie, but we are confident we will stay up."
