And that is despite that the fact that, coincidentally, they will face cup final opponents Wigan on Wednesday.

"Roberto Mancini and ourselves won't be thinking about FA Cup finals on Wednesday," Platt told Sky Sports.

"The cup final can wait until late in May."

Platt admits that although City will be favourites, they will be taking the threat of Wigan seriously.

He said: "Cup final are cup finals, stranger things have happened and our focus is on Wigan, Tottenham, West Ham, Swansea and maybe one more - we have four or five league games to concentrate on before a cup final."

Platt also defended referee Chris Foy, who seemingly decided against taking action against City striker Sergio Aguero for a two-footed challenge on David Luiz.

"When you're talking about tension in the game, people go into tackles and try and win the ball," he said.

"I thought the referee did very, very well, everyone remained on the pitch and I think there were a few professional fouls rather than nasty challenges."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
