Referee Stuart Attwell called a halt after 75 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the tie goalless and Rovers boss Ward said his club was happy to go along with the decision.

"It's fair enough, we have no grumbles about it," he said.

"The fourth official had spoken to me five or six minutes before and John Gregory also said it was difficult.

"Water was standing on the pitch, there's always a risk of an injury and it is of paramount importance to prevent that.

"We will now need to play another game over a busy Christmas programme, but we will deal with it and move on.

"The worst thing to come out of it from our point of view were the bookings of Oliver Norburn and Tom Lockyer. Unfortunately they will stand and it means that Tom misses our home game against Portsmouth on Saturday."

A delayed third-round meeting with Birmingham at St Andrew's is at stake for the winner.
