Sky Bet League One side Sheffield United will therefore take on Hull in the second semi on Sunday 13 April (4pm KO).

Wigan famously lifted the trophy last season thanks to Ben Watson's dramatic late winner against Manchester City.

And the Latics stunned City again on Sunday, winning 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium to reach the last four once more.

They will now seek to cause another upset against Arsenal, who have not won a trophy since triumphing in this competition nine years ago.

The Gunners are now favoured by the bookmakers to end their trophy drought, having beaten Everton 4-1 in their quarter-final on Saturday at the Emirates.

Hull boss Steve Bruce will face his former club in the other semi-final on the Sunday afternoon.

The Blades are now managed by Nigel Clough and got the better of Charlton on Sunday to continue their Cup run.
