Liverpool Have Everything To Lose...

Beating Cardiff in the Carling Cup final on Sunday won't be seen as a huge achievement for Liverpool, but if they lose it could lead to all kinds of pain. Remember Arsenal...?

Sorry, I misunderstood the term "lesser trophy" didn't I. Touchy? Disagree, Paranoid? My Mrs is a beautiful woman who wears little clothing...so yeah.

Taking quotes out of the context of the whole interview does not help. I firmly believe we absolutely wont want to repeat of the Bolton shambles, Dalglish won't allow the players to focus on anything else except Sunday, and thats how it should be. Being a winner himself, he knows success breeds success. I agree with most of what his said here, but disagree that winning would not be a huge achievement. For a club who hasn't one sod all in years, it is extremely significant.

As much as it pains me to say it, Liverpool have far more spine than l'Arse, and if they were to lose the final, I dont think they would do an Arsenal and collapse.

Liverpool will be pushed hard, but in the end run out easy winners - but nobody will give Liverpool credit at all, claiming that they had it so easy, and should've won by more than that etc etc. Personally though, I could care less. They're going to win it, and whoever else you support - your team isn't!

This stupid piece of article had to be written to piss off every Pool fan. Liverpool have beaten Stoke and Chelsea away and gave Citizens a real lesson of team effort at Anfield. As surprisingly smart Craig Bellamy pointed out all of the opponents have put their best players on the pitch. So what is there to lose? It has been a great journey to the Wembley and I will guarantee every LFC supporter will feel the chills when players enter the famous pitch and crowd is singing You'll Never Walk alone. So let's enjoy our first cup final for 5 long years and ignore this jealous sh*t everybody is throwing at us.

Well tbh yep, the Carling up is pretty much regarded as the crapper version of the FA cup, it has little value these days....however, we have won fcuk all since 06, even when we had the epic Gerrard Torres duo, which still wasn't good enough to win the League, all thanks to United(gotta admit they had one hell of a team at the time). Anyways back to the point, it'll be nice for us Pool fans to see a trophy after quite a few years. And no, we won't lose to Cariff, if there's anything we're good at, it's cup finals.

dalglishdagger, I don't think you understand the point I was making, to be honest. I was extolling the values of the Carling Cup, not dismissing it. I'm not the kind of person to look down my nose at any trophy (perhaps we can make an exception for the Intertoto Cup, perhaps......?), so I personally think that the CC IS worth winning. United have won it 2 or 3 times over the last 7 years or so, so I'd be in no position to criticise it, would I? My team are currently competing in the Europa League, and although this is, effectively, the B division of European football, I still want us to try and win it. It's a cup, at the end of the day, and success has to start somewhere, doesn't it? If teams only ever aimed for the Premiership and the CL, 99% of teams would win nothing at all, because only one team can ever win these things. The CC isn't the biggest and best cup going, but if you were to offer me a place in the CC final at the start of the season, I'd take it. Not ahead of the league, or the CL, but I'd definitely take the offer up. It's a day at Wembley; isn't that what it's all about...........?

Well said HarryBoulton, I want to win this cup big time, some silverwear in the cabinet, its been too long and Liverpool need to experience the winning feeling again. Even if it is the League Cup. And Liverpool did get to the final the hard way, all games away from home until the second leg of the semi, knocking Chelsea and City out along the way, a tough tie at Stoke. It might not be the biggest of the prizes but its a nice trophy all the same and cup final day is always great. Cant wait. Cardiff really shouldnt be underestimated though. Remember Birmingham where lower league when we beat them in 2001 and penos were needed there. Nothing for granted, hope its a great game with a Liverpool win.

What a ridiculous piece of "journalism" and I use the term loosely. Cardiff City have fought there way to this final and should be apllauded for doing so. Any team who can make a cup final are a worthy opponent for anyone else regardless of league position it's been proven so many times there isn't enough life in my keyboard to tell you about them. Absolute crock of s**t you should consider a career writing for the Sunday Sport.

@dalglishdagger. Calm down mate!! I don't think Harry was being arrogant, just acknowledging the fact that it is a lesser trophy, and i have no doubt in mind if if Utd were in this final they would admit to the same but would be happy to win it, they are going for the UEFA cup this season, that's considered Europe's B competition, but its still worth winning if your in it and Utd are definitely gonna try and win it. Ive no qualms about the league cup, we knocked out the current league leaders and chelsea en route to the final so it will be a well earned trophy if we can win it. Its all about filling trophy cabinets lads, be they small one or big ones its always better than no ones.....

bsolutely delighted for Chelsea, what a story. Particularly happy for Drogba to (possibly) sign off a career on such a high note. Wonder how the spurs fans are feeling tonight.

eah yeah, whatever fatty. Keep trying to talk down a competition you'll never play in. I bet you'll get relegated next season and claim the 38th game is more important than the CL final too.
