Squawka is a second-screen football companion. It is a free web app that works by looking at millions of different on-pitch actions and reactions. It's like having millions of people watching for and noting the success of every possible action performed by every player on the pitch, at any given moment. Everything from a ball successfully controlled down by a player's chest to the success of a left-footed pass in a certain area of the pitch count towards each player's overall 'influence' score, which can be thought of as their overall game impact. The higher the influence score, the better the player's performance, put simply.

Football has never been this scrutinised - nor any other sport, for that matter. By analysing the entire 11/12 Premier League season, we've been able to show who should and shouldn't be in the national team.

Squawka is being launched to coincide with Euro 2012 and will give users the chance to see real-time data while watching matches, giving them the most comprehensive player and team statistics, head-to-head info, heat maps, goal analysis and, of course, the player influence used to collate this Squawka England team. Users are also able to use the custom-built chat platform to talk to other fans.
