If Ref365 had a hat, he'd be tipping it to Mark Clattenburg after a flawless display in the north London derby. Plus, Tony Pulis shouldn't be using the ref as an excuse...
ve heard his older brother might be joining as part of the deal too... Roland.

I'm no Arsenal fan, but I thought there was a blatant foul on Cazorla just before the second goal. It was the players' fault for hesitating and expecting it to be given, but the Spurs player clearly followed through into Cazorla - I don't know which player it was, but even he immediately jumped up and started apologising rather than concentrating on play. I was surprised less has been made of it. I also though Clattenburg's handling of the Dawson fracas was poor - Dawson ran 30 yards to yell abuse at the ref, and got away scot-free.

I'm a gooner, I like Arteta, I always liked him at Everton and from before that, and he was fantastic in his defensive role last season(one he had been more focused on at Everton for the previous couple of seasons), but he's getting aclimatised to Arsenal, that is, he's getting worse defensively. Vermaelen was one of the best CB's in the league in his first year, 3 years training at Arsenal and he's a mistake prone fool.... this can be shown to be the case for MANY defenders we've had in the past 6-7 years, Sagna started off great, is now, crap. Anyway, Arteta should have been booked at least once in that game, some ref's give the stupid early yellow, some don't, realistically Arteta should have got one for the Lennon foul, but after that he then sent Adebayor flying twice, and multiple other fouls. Perfect/flawless, despite not booking a player that thoroughly deserved to be booked long before anyone else. Adebayor got booked for maybe his first tackle that actually from the replay isn't bad at all, Arteta did at least 3 more worth of a yellow but got nothing. In other words, no, not a perfect game and not really close. I also didn't get the praise for the offside calls, someone else being offside doesn't make judging Bale onside more difficult, it wasn't a very close call, in terms of offsides, there are calls that come down to centimetres, even millimetres, the Spurs ones weren't even particular close. Advantage rules is something ref's need to get better with, but one clattenburg did was after Spurs had the ball continued forward then CHOSE to pass backwards, after which he awarded the freekick, this was an incorrect application of the rule, Spurs got the advantage and chose not to use it, the freekick should be given when they are prevented from gaining an advantage, not when they turn it down.

Thought he reffed the north London derby excellently. I wish more refs could adopt his approach to the advantage rule.
