Are Depor Facing Final Nou Camp Visit?

Remember when Deportivo were good? They were Champions League semi-finallists in 2004 but are now so crippled with debts that relegation could lead to the end...

A tragic story. I can't begin to imagine how it must feel to have your team simply disappear, especially after the highs were so recent. If ever there was a demonstration on the dangers of individual TV rights over collective deals, it's this.

Great article as ever Tim. Was only speaking to a mare the other day about those great Depor sides of Bebeto et al. I remember us signing Mick Madar from them as he complained it was effectively a Brazilian enclave.

Thanks God someone remembers all these teams, once in First Division and now facing the abbyss... This is the problem with modern football (especially in Spain, where the Government has given money to "big clubs" such as Real Madrid to save them from bankrupcy, prosecuting others with no mercy), and it is really sad. As a Deportivo fan, I can remember those nights when we were the only remaining Spanish team in Champions League, how we won the League with the lowest bugdet in the history of modern football, how we won Real Madrid at their home in the 'Centenariazo', etc. Champions League is nothing compared to those years when not everything was Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea or other 'loaded fellows'. Football has degenerated into a mere business, forgetting its own origin: IT SHOULD BE A SPORT. To finish, I want to thank you again for not forgetting all those clubs (Depor, Racing, Albacete, Salamanca, recently-disappeared Palencia,...). ¡VIVA EL FÚTBOL!

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!

hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.
