Backing Suarez To Fire Blanks At Stoke

Degsy isn't convinced by Luis Suarez's record away from home this season and he expects Liverpool to draw at Stoke. Oh, he's also tipping more misery for David Moyes...

The Premier League title race is shaping up to climax in quite remarkable style. That is, unless Chelsea and Manchester City stuff things up this weekend. Please don't...

Hull City v Chelsea
Hull have been very tidy at home so far this season while Chelsea have been getting it right against the division's lesser lights. I make Mourinho's men a bit short to side with at 8/13 but am quite aroused by anything better than evens about both teams scoring in this one.
Betting: Both teams to score at 21/20 (Hills)

Cardiff City v West Ham
The Bluebirds look the banker of the weekend to me and despite odds-against quotes having disappeared in the wake of West Ham's 6-0 mauling at the Ethiad I reckon Cardiff are still definitely a mortgage job here at around evens. The Hammers have shipped 11 goals in two matches and have looked clueless for several weeks now (see defeat to Fulham). If this was a sausage eating contest I'd back Sam Allardyce over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all day long, but it isn't, so my wages will be on Cardiff and I don't expect Big Sam (one of the highest earning bosses in the world game) to have a job by this time next week.
Betting: Cardiff to win at 20/21 (Stan James)

Everton v Norwich City
The home win looks a no-brainer here. In terms of how these teams have a acquitted themselves this season this is Hollywood v Hollyoaks and I can see the Toffees cruising to a rather one-sided home win.
Betting: Everton to win to nil at 13/10 (Stan James)

Fulham v Sunderland
It's been a great week to be a Sunderland fan with two thumping cup wins to send spirits soaring. They showed great character on Tuesday night to see off Manchester United at the SOL and I reckon they can continue their good run by bagging a point here against a side who are down there with them in the relegation mire.
Betting: Sunderland and Fulham to daw at 12/5 (Ladbrokes)

Southampton v West Brom
The Baggies have announced that Pepe Mel is their new boss and while he won't take charge of team affairs on Saturday he is 'expected to be in the stands'. I should f**king hope so as well! He's the manager. Where else is he going to be on Saturday? Youth Hosteling with Chris Eubank? Regardless of who picks the side though, I feel the Baggies are booked in for a defeat against a Saints who should be buoyed by the knowledge that their opponents haven't won in seven away games.
Betting: Southampton to beat West Brom at 4/5 (bet365/Coral/Hills)

Tottenham v Crystal Palace
Given the consistent levels of dog sh*te produced by Spurs at home this season only the mentally unstable and those people who frequent betting shops with unkempt greasy hair and suspicious stains on their kecks will be considering punting the hosts at 2/5 or worse. I have found a decent bet though in the form of the 9/4 Boylesports are prepared to offer about Aaron Lennon in their 'anytime assist' market. That looks a big price about a winger whose game is all about providing the ammunition at the business end of the park.
Betting: Lennon anytime assist at 9/4 (Boylesports)

Manchester United v Swansea
Less than a week after their first ever win at Old Trafford, Swansea can be backed at a whopping 13/2 to heap more misery on beleaguered Scot David Moyes. Make no bones about it the Red Devils are in crisis. Eleven points off the top, they come into this off the back of three straight defeats and two of those matches were at home. Good luck if you are thinking about smashing them at 1/2 but I will happily take my chances on Michael Laudrup's men in the 'draw no bet' market.
Betting: Swansea draw no bet at 9/2 (Bet Victor)

Newcastle v Manchester City
The Mags have lost to Arsenal, West Brom and Cardiff in recent weeks so could probably do without a visit from Manchester City, a side they have lost eight on the spin against. Yaya Toure has been in sensational form over Christmas along with Alvaro Negredo (four goals in last two games). Citeh haven't been unshakeable at the back but they are more than capable of winning this one in a high scoring affair.
Betting: Man City to win and both teams to score at 2/1 (Bet Victor/Hills)

Stoke City v Liverpool
After some big defeats over Christmas at least Liverpool can now concentrate on the Premier Lea... The Champions Lea... Er, their families. Unsurprisingly Luis Suarez will be all the rage in the goal markets but his record away from Anfield this season has been pretty ordinary. Manchester City, Everton and Chelsea have all failed to claim three points at the Britannia and the Reds have picked up just three wins away from home this season. With this in mind I'm more than happy then to get stuck into the draw here at 3s.
Betting: Draw at 3/1 (bet365)

Degsy Bilton

@summerofcmpunk if you happen to stumble back here - read it again, you'll realise the games were against top teams, not the goals. Suarez got goals in away games against crap teams, like Spurs, and now Stoke.

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

Wenger hails important win

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
