Has Rodgers Learnt To Stay Quiet On Title Hopes?

Friday's talk from Brendan Rodgers was of "mental endurance" and title hopes, but other managers know that pride tends to come before a fall in football. Rodgers must learn that too...

Absolute rubbish kolevlfc, his tactical error had nothing to do with what he said to the press. If that's the case then how do you explain other games where he said similar things and then got it tactically spot on?

@shockmaster, The result has a lot to do with what BR said. When you are title contender, you are supposed to beat Villa at home easily. So you can underestimate the game, be outnumbered in the midfield and then you "could not find your flow".

As others have said, the result had nothing to do with what Rodgers said to the press and everything to do with his strange decision not to field a defensive midfielder. I seem to remember Rodgers saying similar stuff before we thrashed Spurs, it just gets picked up on more when we don't win.

Yeah Rodgers sure we have a chance to the title dream on mate, I stopped dreaming a long time ago. By the way, don't bring in anyone, loan all the kids away and wait for the injuries (Lucas now)/inconsistencies (Aston Villa game)/any other business to ruin what we have achieved so far and end in a meager 6th place no Europe and Suarez gone. The perfect plan Udinese style, buy cheap sell expensive get as much money as you can.

Harsh on Rogers, I think. The way Liverpool are playing, I'd say he was more than entitled to talk of the title, as unlikely as ae it may be with City, Chelsea and Arsenal playing ad they are.

Sorry to be a bore, but another one on the "It's almost as if different writers/individuals may have different opinions" thing... Perhaps try mentioning that to a certain Winterburn, who has something of a habit for passing off her (?) opinions as what "we" (presumably F365) think. One could also suggest that the title "F365 says" might be more accurate as, for example, "Daniel Storey says" if you are not claiming it to be the party line. Just saying...

@Matt79LFC - Two things. Firstly if a persons club also has divers that doesn't mean they cannot comment on your divers. If that was the case no one would be able to talk about anything, ever. Secondly, if you truly believe Guzman too Suarez out i have some beach side property on the moon going cheap.

Nothing to do with mention of title talk which cost them 2 points it was his team selection Henderson seems to be completely non existent when playin with Gerrard but credit to BR for owning up to his error by bringing on Lucas at half time, Gerrard I hate to say is jus not capable of closing down the opposition as well as he used to leaving the middle of de park wide open, anyway that should put to bed our title hopes and concentrate on a more realistic goal 4th place

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

Wenger hails important win

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
