@tonyv25 you talk rubbish. allaboutunited you think Bill Gates is something to be applauded? How do you know that 'Chav' isn't a good person? You don't know either personally so your argument defeats itself. If one person earns money over the years my buying up all the small independent companies and heads a monopoly that is somehow better than someone winning the lottery?

@raimi agree in principal, but i seem to remember reading that Villa had a crazily high wage bill which was just unsustainable. I think the problem you have is that without a global fanbase (which outside the current CL clubs only Liverpool have a competitive one) it is literally impossible to crack the top 4 and stay there. to get a global fanbase you need success and to be in the CL- and to be in the CL you need good players, high wages, all funded by a global fanbase. I think spurs could perhaps have done it but the competition is so fierce now they wont be able to be a Champions league club for a few consecutive years and build a fanbase and revnue that is needed.

"slow-motion replays clearly showed him catching Dzeko's heel before making connection with the ball" err seriously? I saw the replay several times and I couldn't see what Daniel Storey saw. Don't think the FA saw it either or else they wouldn't have been rescinded Rose's ban. Pair of spectacles maybe Mr. Storey? May help you from seeing imaginary things.

City fans still not getting the difference between hard earned cash and hand outs? It's like comparing Bill Gates with that chav that won the lottery....then 'trying' to argue they are equally respectable! It's mass self delusion, they've been doing it for 40 years! They even think that if two people make the same point.....they are the same person! Of course.....they can't actually prove this, like most of what they say.

diegtristan - my page cuts off at the bottom to be honest so I d manually added the figures together so maybe. I m very much correct about the 98/99 season where and Tonyv claimed "while City were in the 3rd tier of english football" they outspent United which they clearly didn t to the tune of about 20m+ even using your own transfer site.

diegtristan - I took my figures from soccerbase rather than transferleague so got different figures but actually the difference is close to 10. Feel free to check if you like.

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
