Martin Jol: Happy with a point against Everton

Fulham have thrown away several points already from winning positions this season, and looked set to squander all three against Everton at Craven Cottage after Tim Howard's unfortunate own goal had given them a seventh-minute lead.

Two goals from Marouane Fellaini had Everton in the ascendancy in the second half, but substitute Steve Sidwell equalised in the 90th minute to salvage a point.

"I feel great, we won a point!" said Jol afterwards.

"They dominated us in the first half and we had a real problem with their style."

After Bryan Ruiz came off the bench to score at Reading last weekend, Sidwell's goal was another example of a timely introduction by the Fulham boss.

"He's always capable of going forward and getting on the scoresheet," added the Dutchman.

Jol admitted Everton had reasons to feel aggrieved but was happy for his own players.

"They were hard done by, but we should have exploited more space in midfield in the first half," he said.

"It was great to see another full house here, but I didn't enjoy the game much. I don't like seeing other teams dominate here. But we never gave up and that's a compliment to the boys.

"It's good to get a little bit of luck, but I feel for them (Everton) as well. Maybe we deserved more in the games last season - now they deserve more."

The result keeps Fulham seventh in the Premier League table.
