Derek Boateng: Closing on move to Fulham

The Cottagers have been on the Ghana star's trail since last summer, as have a number of clubs including West Brom.

But now Fulham have been successful in their application to bring Boateng into England, as he did not automatically gain a work permit.

Boateng himself has already had a medical and his discussed personal terms, but he has now flown out to South Africa to link-up with Ghana ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Whilst Boateng is Africa, Fulham will look to finalise a deal with his club - Dnipro of Ukraine.

Talks have been ongoing, but there is no hurry for Fulham as Boateng will not be able to play until February anyway due to Ghana's participation.
