United needed two games to ease past West Ham at the third-round stage and with Dimitar Berbatov eager to impress on his return to Old Trafford, it is not entirely beyond the realms of possibility that Fulham could force the Red Devils into a second game as well.
That would almost certainly be played on the weekend reserved for the fifth round, in between the two Champions League ties with Real Madrid, with a fixture backlog looming should United eventually make it through.
Little wonder therefore Giggs wants progress towards a first FA Cup triumph since 2004 to be made with clinical efficiency.
"Win the FA Cup was one of my first memories as a United player," he said.
"The competition was huge for me growing up and still is and we have so many players here who are desperate to win it.
"You want to be challenging on all fronts given the strength in depth we've got.
"But we are quite keen to avoid a replay because we've got a lot of games coming up.
"We realise tomorrow will be a difficult game - Fulham did well when they came to Old Trafford earlier in the season and we're going to have to be at it right from the start."
United should at least be refreshed after their midweek visit to Qatar, where they were able to use the state-of-the-art facilities at Aspire in addition to escaping the winter chill back home.
"It ticked all the boxes," said Giggs. "The facilities were good, the conditions were good and the performances in training were very good.
"In addition we had a bit of down-time in the afternoons and got to the beach and watched the golf [Qatar Masters] - it was a good trip and we achieved everything we wanted to from it.
"It acted as a little bit of an escape from the focus and pressure in England and allowed us to relax and get ready for what's to come in a pivotal point of the season because I think there is more to come from us."
The first test is provided by Berbatov, who polarised opinion during his four years at United but remained a valued member of the dressing room until his exit last August.
"United fans always appreciate talent and Berba certainly has that," said Giggs. "We all remember the little bits of magic he produced and his hat-trick against Liverpool which always goes down well with our fans.
"There is no doubt he is an amazing talent and a brilliant player."
