The Cottagers are four points adrift of safety with nine games to play and host Newcastle with Pardew not allowed to enter Craven Cottage due to his ban for head-butting Hull midfielder David Meyler.

"Every team has his manager beside normally, so it's not usual. It could be a chance for us. (But) always you have to take the chance," said Magath, who has one point from his three matches in charge.

"Everybody makes mistakes. He was punished. That's it. The most important thing is to win one game to give the players and the team more confidence.

"We didn't take the chance three times. Now we have to take the chance in the home game against Newcastle.

"We've got the chance to take three points. If we can realise that I think we have a good chance (of survival)."

Magath targeted six wins from 12 games on his appointment and believes results at Craven Cottage will be key, with the Magpies, Everton, Norwich, Hull and Crystal Palace all to visit west London.

"Now we have five home games left. I think it is possible to win the home games and take a win from the away games too."

Magath disagreed with defender Johnny Heitinga's assessment that Fulham need a "miracle" to survive, adding: "I am convinced that we can win a few games in the last nine and I don't rely on miracles or luck, I prefer to work.

"The players are not used to a relegation fight. They are players who came from teams which were in another situation.

"The players don't get used to it, so at the moment they are not quite sure how to do it."

couple of wins and everything is OK! Sorry you still haven't got a striker who can consistently goals. Keep searching. I don't think Liverpool will make top four not even Europa League this time around.

f he can find the right player? Surely the manager of one of Europe's top clubs has a well-researched short-list and has a good idea of who he wants to bring on-board? If I can find the right player sounds like someone going out on Saturday night on the pull, and the nearer you get to midnight the lower your standards drop.
