The 33-year-old steered Accies to promotion through the play-offs in his first season in charge at New Douglas Park.

Neil's side finished as runners-up to Dundee in the regular season before defeating Falkirk and Hibernian to book their return to the top flight after a three-year exile.

Meanwhile, Accies have also announced the signing of goalkeeper Michael McGovern and midfielder Kieran MacDonald from Falkirk and Clyde, respectively.
