The former Rangers man was sent off in the 1-0 defeat against Dundee at Dens Park on 27 April but is back in contention for the fifth and final Edinburgh derby of the campaign.

Hearts have yet to toast a victory over their old rivals this season - with three draws and one defeat in the four meetings thus far.

Danny Wilson is struggling with a thigh injury and faces a late test, while striker Michael Ngoo has recovered from a shoulder problem and is in the squad.

Hibernian boss Pat Fenlon insists he will not be tempted to rest players with the Scottish Cup final just a fortnight away.

"I know what the derby means to everyone," he told The Scotsman. "We have done all right against Hearts this year so we would obviously like to keep that going. Our record over there isn't fantastic so we would like to change that with a win.

"That's the priority at the moment. The Cup final is not really in my thoughts. It will take care of itself when the day comes. We will pick a team that I feel can win the game."

Fenlon will check on the fitness of Ryan McGivern - who was forced out of the abandoned game against Kilmarnock with a knee injury - and Tim Clancy before naming his side.

h Daniel. I could spend hours on this subject putting the world to rights. You can even take a step back and ask why football fans (and society in general) have this need to know that something will happen before it actually does. There are times this important, when it comes to things like war, food production and natural disasters. A man you've never met changing his job? Not so much.

reat article. Hits the nail on the head. Encapsulates why I don't read tabloid newspapers anymore. The only thing worse is the 'told you so first' headline when they get lucky.
