The defender moved from Australia in 2008 to join the SPL outfit's Under 19 squad and has since been out on loan to East Fife and Gold Coast United.

This season, he has been a key member of the squad as the administration-hit club, which suffered a 15-point deduction, battle against relegation from the SPL.

While the 22-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, he would gladly open talks to prolong his time at the club.

Looking forward

He told the Daily Record: "We will have to wait until after we come out of administration before any new contracts are offered. But I'm looking forward to seeing that happen and seeing what the club has for me.

"I would be more than happy to open talks with the club if they are ready but most importantly it's about Hearts surviving.

"When I first came over here it was to sign for the Under-19s so I had to do well to get another contract.

"I am proud of my achievements, considering how far I have come and how young I was when I moved over from Australia.

"I am very happy here."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
