In a bizarre incident, the 27-year-old celebrated breaking the deadlock from the spot in the second half by refusing to hand back the ball and running down the touchline before barging into Adams for which he received a second yellow card from referee Willie Collum.

Hamill, who will miss Sunday's Edinburgh derby at Hibernian, has been charged with allegedly breaching Disciplinary Rule 201: Excessive misconduct at a match by knocking Derek Adams, manager of Ross County FC, to the ground.

The principal hearing date is May 8.
