Hibs take on the Swedish league leaders in the second qualifying round of the Europa League knowing they will need to be at their best against a team who are 16 games into their domestic campaign.
McPake told Hibernian TV: "We need to keep the tie alive. If we can do that and get Malmo back at Easter Road with a chance of going through then the place will be bouncing.
"Everyone knows what Easter Road is like when the fans are behind us and this is another opportunity for us to have a big night at Easter Road in a week's time. First of all we need to take care of this game.
"We worked hard to get to another Scottish Cup final, albeit we lost the game again disappointingly.
"But this is the reward for a decent cup run. It's a chance to get some great nights at our stadium."
McPake missed the 3-0 defeat by Celtic at Hampden with a back injury but he has gradually eased his way back in to play a full part in the most recent pre-season matches.
"I feel good, all the hard work has all been done," the 29-year-old said. "It's not getting any easier as I get a little bit older but it's in the tank now.
"I played a decent amount of football in the pre-season friendlies so I'm raring to go and happy with the condition I'm in at the minute."
