The 18-year-old will work with the Terriers' Senior Professional Development Coach Steve Eyre during his stay at the John Smith's Stadium, which also has the option of a permanent switch.

Eyre is aware of the Nigerian-born youngster from their time together at Rochdale and was quick to praise the promising forward.

"Godwin is physically strong, quick and hungry to score goals - but he's still raw and learning the game. Despite this, he has already played in Rochdale's first team and acquitted himself well," he told the club's official website.

"His attributes fit what we wanted to add to the Development Squad and I recommended to Simon Grayson that we bring him to the club.

"This is effectively an extended trial period for Godwin; the challenge is now with him to continue his progression whilst at Huddersfield Town."
