The Terriers have won four out of eight games on the road this term, but face tough clashes against in-form duo Charlton and Middlesbrough in the space of three days.

However, former Southend defender Clarke says that everyone's focus is on Saturday's trip to The Valley as they refrain from looking too far ahead.

"Our sole focus is always the next game and that ensures that we don't look beyond that at what might be round the corner," Clarke told Sky Sports.

"If you start looking too far ahead or setting targets after a certain amount of games you can lose sight of what is important.

"The most important thing is always the next game because you can only affect one game at a time.

"That is the way we have worked in the past and it has served us quite well so far, so we won't be changing our ways any time soon.

"We have done well away from home over the course of the season to date and were unfortunate not to come back from Cardiff on the opening day with any points because the performance definitely warranted a point at least.

"However, since then we've done well on our travels, with some good victories recently and long may it continue."
