Danny Ward: Broken bone in foot

The 21-year-old winger was on the verge of his first-team comeback at following a five-game lay-off due to a knee problem when he sustained his latest injury in training prior to the weekend defeat at Watford.

"On his return from injury, Danny Ward caught his foot in training and after going for an X-ray it revealed that he has fractured metatarsal, which is going to rule him out for six to eight weeks," manager Simon Grayson confirmed after Saturday's 4-0 defeat.

Ward, a regular starter for the Terriers during their promotion-winning campaign from npower League One, had made 23 appearances this season before injuring his knee before Christmas.

Meanwhile, defender Joel Lynch, who has missed the last four matches, is struggling to be fit for Saturday's home FA Cup clash with Leicester.

"Joel Lynch is making progress with his hamstring, but whether he will be fit for the Leicester game is still questionable," Grayson added.
