Town paid an undisclosed club-record fee for former Bradford striker Wells in January and the 23-year-old scored his fifth goal in 15 appearances for the club in the 1-1 weekend draw at Reading.

"Nahki works really hard in training and even though he had a spell without a goal after his two early ones, you can see now that he has a real eye for goal," Gobern told the club's official website.

"His work really helps the team too. Alongside James Vaughan, we arguably have two of the best strikers in the Championship."

Huddersfield, without a win in six league games, have drawn their last two matches and are 11 points clear of the relegation zone in 16th place.

Gobern added: "There's no problem with motivation or determination in the changing room.

"We don't want to get stuck in mid-table. We're still trying to push as high as we can and see where we can finish."

resumably, you wanted to keep the version of Downing that was never seen at Anfield. The one that another manager has managed to re-create. The one you passed over.

Hmmm. We're not sure about this argument - one Mailbox says Luis Suarez is easier to forgive because he is a little loco. We also have mails on Studge and more...
