Goalkeeper Joe Murphy, midfielder Lee Peltier and striker Harry Bunn have been drafted in to the John Smith’s Stadium, while Danny Ward has seen his contract extended.

Those deemed surplus to requirements have been informed that they are free to move on and manager Mark Robins is working hard to ensure that all of the pieces come together before the new season gets under way.

He has the full backing of his board in those efforts, with chairman Dean Hoyle revealing that further fresh faces are being persuaded and exits are in the process of being pushed through.

He said in the Huddersfield Examiner: “We would like one or two more, of course we would, but it’s a very slow market at the moment with lots of players out of contract, so we will see where we go.

“It is a revolving door because one or two people have been told they can leave if they wish, but there are possibilities for us and we’ll be exploring those as best we can.”

Hoyle is optimistic heading into the 2014/15 campaign, with pre-season preparations beginning in earnest this week.

He added: “A few of the players have been in already, James Vaughan and Lee Peltier have been having a laugh and a joke, all the coaching staff are back and everyone is buzzing.

“We need to push on this season.

“If you had asked me at Christmas if we had got progress then I would have said ‘yes’, but then we faded away to say the least and that can’t be allowed to happen again.

“We are confident in Mark Robins, which is why he is taking us into the season, and we have made sacrifices on the backroom staff. Now we just need leaders on the pitch and I’m confident we can really push on.”

All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
