The visiting Tigers led for much of the game through a Joe Newell own goal - but were denied victory in the dying moments when Grant McCann converted from the penalty spot.
Bruce said afterwards: "You're always disappointed to be pegged back in the final few minutes of a match, but in all truth I don't think we deserved anything more than a point.
"We gave away a soft penalty which I have absolutely no complaints about, but I can't be too disappointed to be sat third in the league with only goal difference keeping us out of the automatic promotion places.
"While we have to praise the many fans who helped to clear the pitch of snow in the morning and the hundreds that made the journey down from Hull to support us, the game itself wasn't much of a spectacle.
"Any footballer would have struggled to play on a slippy surface where the ball was jumping around all over the place. Only in England would we have got a game on in these conditions."
