The Tigers may already be promoted depending on Watford's result against Leicester on Friday, but victory at Oakwell will ensure their return to the Premier League.

Bruce admitted nerves took hold of his side during their goalless draw against Bristol City last week but is confident they will not be found wanting next time out.

"We'll be better off for Friday, no doubt about it," he told the Hull Daily Mail. "You learn to deal with these things.

"Every side is feeling the pressure at this stage of the season. We're seeing it every week. Teams you'd expect to win are dropping points. We've seen it all season, but especially now.

"It's important we stay focused and stay positive because we're the ones in a fantastic position."

He added: "It wasn't easy with three games in six days, with two of those away from home, and perhaps that showed in Friday's game. No excuses though, we know we're capable of more."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
