The Tigers secured their return to the Premier League on a dramatic final day of the Championship season after a three-year absence from the top flight.

Allam helped save the club from going into administration after paying off their debts and he admits he will keep the purse strings tights to safeguard the club's wellbeing despite the influx of money from reaching the Premier League.

Allam also hailed the influence of Hull manager Steve Bruce after he replaced former Tigers hero Nick Barmby at the KC Stadium last summer.

"I will not do anything to risk the club and neither would Steve [Bruce]. We are all sensible people," Allam told the Daily Mail.

"We will all sit together when we have had some rest and discuss it. I will sit down with him and then push him up the hill.

"The club is debt free now and we have very good management with a first class, experienced manager in Steve Bruce. His presence here attracts good names, good players. He's a very experienced and loyal man and we are very lucky to have got Steve Bruce.

"We will not let this club be run like some others where you get excited and you lose money and you owe money. We will continue on the same basis, with the same principles.

"Some decisions, no doubt, will not be popular with fans but I hope they have experience of what we are doing and I hope they trust what we are doing and realise that we know what we are doing.

"It didn't happen with my business, which I have run for many years, so why should it happen here? I stick to my decisions, even when a number of the fans turned against me over Nick. I did not change my decision.

"Steve Bruce is such a good, honest man and a good football man. I do not know where you will find better than Steve Bruce, I honestly don't know. I knew he would come good in the end."

think that puts all doubts over Benteke's quality to bed. Can he do it after receiving the ball to feet, in the box, totally unmarked, on a warm, sunny afternoon in Swindon? Oh yes he can! This year is definitely Liverpool's year. YNWA.

ll very well selling all midfield and strikers but unless we bring anyone in that is better than what we had then it will be a terrible transfer window in my view. Sorted out the defense but our midfield and striker options look very light.

ove it when Jose accuses others of being defensive, cynical and playing to win. If I was Wenger, I'd get that quote laminated and framed - surely the biggest compliment he's ever received from Mourinho. You've got him riled Arsene - you're relevant again!
