Steve Bruce: Hoping to sign two more players

It has been a busy few days for the Premier League new boys who sold Corry Evans to Blackburn on Friday.

But, with just over two weeks to go until the Tigers face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Bruce insists the club are doing all they can in order to strengthen the squad.

Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, Bruce said: "We're looking at at least two midfield players now, possibly three. Selling Evans has put a little bit of money in the coffers.

"I've said repeatedly that we'll deal sensibly and we'll be patient to make sure we get the right player.

"We've got a month before the window shuts. If it takes us to the last day, it takes us to the last day. But rest assured, we're working hard to get the right players in."

Bruce did admit though that Stoke City's Wilson Palacios is unlikely to be one of the midfielders he brings in.

He added: "I think it's drifting further away. There's been a change of manager at Stoke and if Tony Pulis was still the manager I'd think there would have been a deal to be done.

"I'm not so sure they want to let him out. If that's the case we'll move on. Of course I'd be interested but if he's not for sale, he's not for sale."

e was right to leave, but not just because of the money City were coming into. If I remember rightly he had a reasonable amount of chances to shine at City, but he never passed the bloody ball. Loads of aimless dribbles and 40 yard shots and not much else. I would say that if he had learnt to be a bit more of a team player he may have done better at City.
