The Tigers are making their second trip to White Hart Lane in four days, having lost 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.

City boss Steve Bruce has taken the opportunity to rotate his squad in previous rounds of this season's League Cup.

With the club also struggling with injuries, the manager's resources are stretched thin, but defender Bruce, who made his first league appearance of the season at the weekend, believes the club's fringe players are again ready to prove their worth.

"It's a squad game nowadays, you can't rely on 11 players in a season or you're going to be struggling. There's going to be injuries," he said.

"You need to utilise the squad because you can't play the same 11 week in, week out.

"You've got to have a strong 18 or 22 players who, when called upon, have got to do a job. I think the lads who came in (on Sunday) did that."

The player was encouraged by his side's display on Sunday, with the defeat coming courtesy of a controversial penalty, awarded after Ahmed Elmohamady was ruled to have handled.

And the 29-year-old feels the Tigers can avenge that loss on Wednesday.

"We defended very well, had a game plan and stuck to it," added Bruce. "Tottenham, with all their quality, struggled to break us down. The only real chance I can think of was the penalty.

"Wednesay is going to be a tough game because coming here is very tough. (Sunday) was the important one and it's a shame we got beat because the Premier League is the main aim.

"But we'll come here, enjoy the occasion on the night and try to beat them again."

All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
