Terry Butcher: Pleased that Inverness continued their unbeaten SPL run

Caley's run of 25 games without being held scoreless came to an end at McDiarmid Park, a streak that came in the 0-0 draw with Dunfermline in May that secured their SPL future.

Butcher claimed before the game that failing to score would send 'seismic shock waves' around the league but he was happy to see his side keep second place and stretch their unbeaten run to nine games.

"It's a good point for us really. Nil-nil is a thing we don't do very often. I said there would be a seismic shock if it happened - I'm never going to say that again," Butcher said.

"It keeps us in second and after 26 matches there are only two teams that have beaten us, Motherwell twice. That's incredible in itself.

"If you had said that in July I would have said 'no chance'. This is all beyond our wildest dreams.

"Today I felt we showed a bit of a different side - grit and determination and battling qualities because St Johnstone were well up for the game and really had a good go at us.

"We started the game really well with a couple of chances and I thought we were going to nick it in the end.

"But having said that they have had chances in the second half, and Antonio (Reguero) made a really good save from Gregory Tade, so we could have lost it."
