Carlos Edwards: Wants Ipswich to pick up where they left off

Edwards' 88th-minute strike clinched a massive 1-0 win over Bolton last weekend as Town signed off for the two-week hiatus with a four-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone.

Forty eight points would have been enough to seal Championship safety in each of the past four seasons but with Town currently boasting 46 and with another eight games left to play, it looks as though it will require more this term.

And Edwards is calling on Ipswich to rack up the required tally as quickly as they can when they return to action next weekend with the visit of Leeds to Portman Road.

"We have eight games left to play and we know just how important each one will be," he told the club's official website.

"The win over Bolton was massive for us and it means we will be heading into the next game with our heads held high, and it's important we hit the ground running after the international break.

"You could see how much the win meant to everyone by the celebrations and it's important we give a good account of ourselves from now until the end of the season, because we don't want to be going into the last game of the season needing a result.

"Hopefully the character we have shown recently will see us through and I think that the character and team spirit we have running throughout the squad will play a huge part for us."

Here's an idea Carlos. a strike rate of more than one every 2 years for a winger/right back mayyyyy just go towards helping as well.
