McGoldrick has found the net eight times for play-off chasing Town this term, coming after he completed a permanent switch from Nottingham Forest in the summer having enjoyed a loan spell over the second half of last season.

The latest of those goals came in Saturday's 2-1 win over Huddersfield, which moved Mick McCarthy's side to within two points of the top six.

"There's a good bunch of lads here and the spirit is fantastic around the place," McGoldrick told the club's official website.

"Even when I first arrived here on loan in January, the mood in the camp was superb and we were fighting relegation at that point.

"We've added good characters and Hunty (Stephen Hunt) is another example of that. He's an experienced guy, he's chirpy around the place and he's slotted in really well with the boys.

"The gaffer and TC (Terry Connor, assistant) have created that environment.

"Obviously we are all serious and down to business when training and on matchdays but they like to have a laugh around the place as well and it's just enjoyable coming into work every day.

"Obviously the results have helped and we've just got to keep pushing on now."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
