Gareth Bale is 8/1 to outscore new team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga this season with Sky Bet after finally joining Real Madrid.

The Leeds-based bookmaker offer that price after Bale completed his protracted transfer from Tottenham on Sunday evening for what is believed to be a world-record fee of £85million.

Bale scored 21 Premier League goals for Spurs last season whereas Ronaldo netted 34 in Spain's Primera Division and has one so far this term. Overall, the Portuguese has a strike rate of more than a goal a game for the club.

Bale was initially chalked up as a 10/1 shot but that was quickly trimmed.

Sky Bet football trader Chris Spicer said: "While Bale enjoyed a phenomenal run of form last season, he was still not outscoring Ronaldo or Messi, so we question whether he'll be topping the charts in his first season in Spain."

Bale's league goals line has been set at 15.5 by Sky Bet - it's 4/5 under that mark and 10/11 over.

The 24-year-old is also 14/1 to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or award in 2014.

Meanwhile, Sky Bet make it a 10/1 chance that Bale, who has signed a six-year deal at the Bernabeu, is back in the Premier League by September 1 next year.

They also offer 4/1 about the world transfer record being broken again before that date.

Sky Bet also offer a series of debut specials.

Bale is 11/10 to score in his first match and 6/1 to net a brace. A hat-trick is a 25/1 chance. He is also 33/1 to be booked for diving and 66/1 to receive a debut red card.

Real's next match is away to Villarreal on the weekend of September 14-15.

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
