Gareth Bale could still be available for Real Madrid's Primera Division match against Valencia this weekend despite sitting out Wednesday's Copa del Rey match Olimpic Xatvia through injury.
A calf knock sustained in training saw the Wales international sidelined for the last-32 second leg but, after scans on Wednesday morning confirmed the problem was not a serious one, he could yet return for the year-ending trip to Valencia.
A Madrid statement read: "Following the MRI scan carried out on Gareth Bale this morning by the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Services, it has been confirmed that he only has an inflamed left calf muscle as a result of the knock he got from a team-mate in training yesterday.
"His participation in Sunday's match against Valencia has not been ruled out."
Bale has been in impressive recent form for Madrid following his world-record 100million euros move from Tottenham this summer, netting nine goals in all competitions so far.
