Johnson: Difficult to lure players

Johnson: Difficult to lure players

Johnson, who returned as Glovers manager last month, has spent more than four years at the Huish Park helm over two separate stints in charge.

And during that time he has come to terms with the remoteness of the small south west town, and the problems its geography can provide in the pursuit of new recruits.

"It's a big stumbling block because somebody whose wife, for instance, has got family in Manchester or Liverpool or Newcastle - they wouldn't know where Yeovil was. They probably wouldn't have heard of it if it wasn't for the football team," Johnson said.

"So it's not got a massive draw to it other than the club itself has got a reputation, I think, of being a decent little hard-working football team and you can move on from it.

"We do get scouts here, there are people who have moved on to bigger and better things. And it's not a bad place to live, the West Country. So that's what we've got to convince them, sometimes it's convincing the wives more than the players."

bsolutely delighted for Chelsea, what a story. Particularly happy for Drogba to (possibly) sign off a career on such a high note. Wonder how the spurs fans are feeling tonight.

eah yeah, whatever fatty. Keep trying to talk down a competition you'll never play in. I bet you'll get relegated next season and claim the 38th game is more important than the CL final too.
