Westley: Will assert his authority

Westley: Will assert his authority

Since arriving in the Deepdale hotseat from Stevenage last month, Westley has overhauled North End's training arrangements while bringing in nine new signings and he fully expects some decanting voices.

"When a manager walks into a dressing room with established pros and decides he's going to change things, he's never going to get it all his own way and he can't expect to get it all his own way," he said.

"But at the same time, if he's got 'winner' in him and hunger and thirst and desire, and if he's promised the fanbase that he's here to make changes, then he's not going to pussy foot around and he's going to make sure that he forces things through.

"Getting things up and running isn't going to be easy. You're going to get some resistance, you're going to get people who think they can fight against you.

"I think the winds of change are starting to be felt. People are starting to understand that there is going to be one way and it's the winning way at this football club. I want people to get on board and the quicker they get on board, the sooner we can get down to real business."

bsolutely delighted for Chelsea, what a story. Particularly happy for Drogba to (possibly) sign off a career on such a high note. Wonder how the spurs fans are feeling tonight.

eah yeah, whatever fatty. Keep trying to talk down a competition you'll never play in. I bet you'll get relegated next season and claim the 38th game is more important than the CL final too.
