David Amoo's cool finish had put the Shakers ahead early on but a Dean Bowditch brace won it for the Dons after Giles Coke had been sent off for two bookable offences.

Mark Hughes almost snatched an unlikely point for the visitors in the closing stages but could only volley tamely at goalkeeper David Martin from close range.

"I just thought it was a very professional performance but I'm fuming over their chance at the end, and I'm disappointed with the chances we missed," said Robinson. "We dilly-dallied a bit on the edge of the box and we need to be more ruthless. But you've got to take it in context, that's two home games on the spin and it's difficult to win two home games, regardless who you are.

"It's just pleasing to get over the line and six points in two home games at home proves this place is still a fortress and we go from strength to strength now."

On Coke's red card Robinson added: "I don't know what they are moaning about with the sending off - the first challenge could have broken Stephen's (Gleeson) leg and now he's struggling for two weeks. It should have been a sending off, he got away with it with a yellow card and then he pulls a player back, which in the laws of the game is another booking."

his is for the best, his hunger would be in serious question now after winning everything with us. A true Chelsea legend, up there with Osgood and Zola, come back and see us now and then Didier. And as Martin Tyler said on Saturday night....he is immortal at Chelsea. What a way to go out eh....Good luck big man wherever you land next.

ne of the many delights of the final few seconds of the season was seeing little Mike Owen with his trackie off and full replica kit on, getting ready to celebrate having contributed NOTHING all season. Would have been on a par with Terry's carry-on in Munich.
