Jalal featured for the first time since the end of last season in the 1-1 draw at Scunthorpe on Saturday.

The Cherries stopper underwent surgery on a herniated disc after failing to play through the pain any longer.

"It was a shame not to get the win but I was just delighted to be back on the pitch, feeling no niggles, no aches and pains.

"I'm glad I came through it and that puts me in good stead for the future and pre-season.

"It's just been one of those seasons, I'm just glad to be injury free and my back feels back to itself. It's a clean slate now, I feel good and hopefully I get a run of games."
