Collins draws on experience

Neill Collins will head into Sheffield United's promotion decider at Exeter with memories of his heroics for Leeds in 2010 still in his mind.

Collins and Blades team-mate Michael Doyle were in the Leeds team that required victory against Bristol Rovers on the final day of the 2009/10 season when the Yorkshire side were reduced to 10 men.

When asked if that experience would help him and his fellow Blades on Saturday against Exeter, Collins said: "There are no magic words. We've just to keep doing what we've been doing all season.

"Leeds were 1-0 down that day and we went down to 10 men in the first half and everyone that played that day was excellent. Doyler came into his own, winning tackles and we came back to win 2-1."

Collins said the Leeds side that secured automatic promotion from League One that season was "very different" to the current Blades team and added: "They had a lot of attacking options - Max Gradel, Jermaine Beckford, Luciano Becchio, Robert Snodgrass and Jonny Howson, but I think this Sheffield United is a more balanced team and we're very well organised.

"We've had a settled XI pretty much. We may not quite have those kind of names to come off the bench and change games. They're very different sides to be honest with you. I think we've got a few more points already than Leeds got that season, I don't know if that means anything."
