Semedo wins Owls award

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jose Semedo has won both the player of the year and the players' player awards.

The 27-year-old has had a fine debut at season following his summer move from Charlton and starred as the Owls won promotion back to the Championship, being an ever-present in the league.

He told the club's official website: "This is a tremendous honour and one I will remember forever. For me, I have enjoyed my first season so much at this huge club.

"I have to say thank you for everyone who voted for me and thank you to everyone at the club. This season has been unbelievable for me and the team.

"(Winning promotion) was very emotional. This is the best thing that ever happened in my career. To celebrate in my place, my stadium, with my fans, my team mates, it was unbelievable."
