Freeman: Enjoyed time with Magpies

Freeman impressed during his four-month loan spell with the Magpies, playing 19 games as the club challenged for the League One play-offs.

The 20-year-old right-back has one year remaining on his contract at Forest but it is unlikely he will be in their first-team plans in the Championship next season because he is behind Wales international Chris Gunter in the pecking order.

"I would like to come back, but it's not in my hands," Freeman told the Nottingham Post. "I'm contracted to Forest and I've got another year there so what they say goes.

"I've really enjoyed being at Notts and I have learned a lot. I wouldn't pick another club to learn my trade.

"When I got asked by Forest if I wanted to go I said yes, but I only expected to play for a month and then go back. I ended up playing a lot of games and loved every moment."
