The 19-year-old, who is expected to be knocking on the first-team door next season, has agreed a six-month extension to his current deal.

Jones is the second Saddlers player to commit his future to the club this week after goalkeeper David Grof agreed new terms.

Manager Dean Smith told the club's official website: "Jake has earned the right to be a professional here.

"He's a level-headed lad who knows what he has to do in the months ahead."
