The Blades missed out on automatic promotion on the final day of the regular season to city rivals Sheffield Wednesday and then lost an agonising penalty shoot-out to Huddersfield in the play-off final at Wembley as their bid to bounce straight back to the npower Championship ended in failure.
But Wilson, backing the club to bounce back stronger, told the club's official website: "The play-off final memories aren't completely out of the system, but we must move forward.
"We can take a lot of positives from most cases last season and we must utilise them next season. We are still a bit raw, but we'll get over the disappointment and once we have the group back together it will soon disappear.
"If you think back to last summer, the lads got the disappointment of relegation out of their systems quickly. Once the season gets underway everyone will have a positive frame of mind and we will be fine."
