The Blades are currently lying in sixth place after eight games and are three points behind the visiting Magpies, who are unbeaten on their travels so far this campaign.

But United have yet to lose a game this season and Wilson is satisfied with his side's progress.

"Notts County have had a terrific start and because of their league position it will probably be our sternest test so far," he told the club's official website.

"I think this game should put things in perspective, people are talking up Notts County's start and it has been fantastic, but we are only three points behind them.

"We have had a steady start and there is much more to come, the lads are fitting into positions as we go along, so we aren't saying we are delirious but we are fairly content with our progress so far."
